Curation Labs inspire students to become passionate about writing.
The Curation Lab Process:

involves students as readers, writers, listeners and speakers
-
provides a way for teachers to collect and curate personalized anthologies of mentor texts including student writing.

Preparation:
-
Submission, selection and preparation of genre-based reading packets (6-10 pieces)
-
Planning of reading times: Will students read at home and then re-read in class or do all reading in class?

Structure and Timing
-

-
Individual Reading and Note-taking (15-20 minutes)

-
Writing: Students produce a piece in the genre applying something they learned about good writing
